The Eight Pieces of Brocade are considered to be the eight best movements for good health. By learning these eight movements, you can help achieve balance and harmony from within and with the world around you. Otherwise known as Ba Duann Jin, the Eight Pieces of Brocade have a healing and rejuvenating effect on the mind and body. These movements, done seated or standing, help strengthen and cultivate "Qi" for life force. Come experience this form of inner art energy work based on Taoist philosophy and take home the beginning of a Tai Chi practice.
Facilitator Jill Connone has been teaching the Eight Pieces of Brocade, Qigong, and Sun style Tai Chi for five years. She holds an advanced Tai Chi certification from the Arthritis Foundation. Her previous background is in Hard Martial Arts (karate). Tai Chi (Chuan) is considered a soft martial art, by some. Please register at www.commongroundcenter.org or call 440-965-5551 Fee: $25.00
