07/16/2010 - Summer Rhythm Retreat
City: Henrietta township
| Starts |
|

| Ends |

The 2010 Summer Rhythm Retreat will be a series of fun and interactive workshops featuring Jim Donovan, founding member of the multi-platinum band Rusted Root, as well as other drum teachers and facilitators. Workshops are organized and taught in a fashion to meet each drummer at his or her level of experience, including people who have no previous drumming experience. This Common Ground event will also give participants an opportunity for a "personal retreat" through some conscious living activities and experiences. Common Ground is committed to support each participant in their personal growth and to help each individual realize their potential. Come have fun playing drums and learn about yourself in the process! Drums are provided and beginners are warmly welcomed.
Facilitator Jim Donovan is an award-winning teacher, performer and past founding member and driving force behind the multi-platinum band Rusted Root (1990-2005). He was named "2008 Drum Circle Facilitator of the Year" by the readers of Drum! Magazine. He has built a series of educational drumming workshop programs that he teaches across the US and Europe at universities, festivals, schools, corporations and specialty venues. Jim is a full-time instructor of music at St. Francis University in Loretto, PA, the current director of the Saint Francis University World Drumming Ensemble, and the director of the Common Ground annual Summer Rhythm Drumming Retreat.

The play follows the struggling family for a few days and as Eugene’s father says, “If you didn’t have a problem, you wouldn’t live in this house.” Two family members face heart disease, one has asthma, and two temporarily lose their jobs that are needed to keep the family afloat.
