07/18/2009 - Lawn Bowling Amateur Tournament

Did you know that many states have towns named Bowling Green because of the early settlers' interest in lawn bowling?  The Lorain Lawn Bowling Association is hosting a Lawn Bowling Amateur Tournament on July 18 at Lakeview Park on the Lawn Bowling Green.  Registration begins at 11 am and the fee is $3 per person.  You can enter as pairs or as a single participant.  This is a tournament for beginners to non-professional law bowlers.  Some prizes will be awarded.  If you always wanted to learn how to play this game, this is the place to start.  If you aren't ready to start playing, you can always watch from the sidelines and cheer on a team.  Call Traci at (440)245-1193 for more information.
