Join the naturalist staff of the Carlisle Reservation for a family-friendly event to mark the opening of the Children's Nature Discovery Trail on July 19 from Noon to 3 pm! Paved and accessible for users of all ages, this trail is designed to involve visitors in a multi-sensory learning adventure, filled with interpretive information and activities. Learn about the animals and plants that inhabit common Ohio habitats by using your senses to discover these organisms out in the field. you can even take home tips to attract animals to your backyard.
The day's events will include naturalist-guided tours along this new trail, with several activities and crafts at stops along the way. Trail rides on the "Little Green Choo" will be offered from 1:30 - 3 pm. Bring the whole family for an afternoon of discovery and free fun!

As the summer sun cools down, enjoy an evening of good music at the annual Summer Concert Series at Bacon Woods Amphitheater at Vermilion River Reservation. Clap your hands and bob your head to the beat with returning favorites as well as new acts. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us Sunday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. for these free concerts in the park! Refreshments are available for a small fee by event sponsor Friends of the Metro Parks.
