In today’s economic and social environment, nonprofits are facing daunting challenges, as well as unprecedented opportunities, to innovate and serve. The key to the board’s success in leading, shaping and supporting the organization is effective board leadership. An effective working relationship between the board and staff is absolutely essential.
Join BVU for a small, hands-on workshop that will address the role of board leaders in guiding and shaping a board to advance the organization to achieve its full potential.

Lorain County Metro Parks and TrueNorth Cultural Arts are pleased to present the play To Kill a Mockingbird at French Creek Nature Center July 17 through August 2. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 1-800-LCM-PARK or (440) 949-5200 or online at www.LorainCountyMetroParks.com.
To Kill a Mockingbird has been described as funny, wise, compelling, and heartbreaking. It is a classic that all should see. Based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning book of the same name, To Kill a Mockingbird takes the audience to the Depression-era South and in to the lives of the Finch family: Atticus, Jem and Scout. Told through the eyes of Scout, Jem and Scout and their friend Dill enjoy the summers reenacting Dracula and trying to get a peek at the neighbor that leaves them gifts in a tree, Boo Radley. When their father, Atticus, is appointed to defend Tom Robertson, a young black man falsely accused of raping a white woman, Scout and Jem are faced with an ugly side of their town and the honorable side of their father.
For more information on To Kill a Mockingbird call (440) 949-5200. The play is directed by Rick Fortney. French Creek Nature Center is located at 4530 Colorado Ave in Sheffield Village.
