As the summer sun cools down, enjoy an evening of good music at the annual Summer Concert Series at Bacon Woods Amphitheater at Vermilion River Reservation.  Clap your hands and bob your head to the beat with returning favorites as well as new acts.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket and join us Sunday evenings from 6:30-8 p.m. for these free concerts in the park!  Refreshments are available for a small fee by event sponsor Friends of the Metro Parks.

Fun, Food, and Family Entertainment Highlight
Voices for Children Kid’s Fun Day

You and your family are invited to the Voices for Children Kid’s Fun Day this Sunday, July 26th, at the South Central Park from noon to 5:00 PM in North Ridgeville. This day long event will feature games, arts and crafts, Smith’s Catering and live entertainment. Terry Wood, Voices for Children President, said “This one day low cost family oriented event is held annually to make the public aware of the startling statistics of child abuse in Lorain County and to raise funds to continue to train community volunteers to speak up for the best interests of abused and neglected children as they go through the court system.”

Included in the admission price of ten dollars for adults, five dollars for children 6-12, and children 5 and under are free, will be a fantastic family picnic catered by Smith’s Catering, game tickets, continuous entertainment and all admissions, complete with grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and Sweet’s corn. The picnic will also include sno-cones, pop corn, and cold beverages.

Kids of all ages will enjoy face painting, arts and crafts, winning prizes, and singing karaoke. Participants can try their luck at the duck pond, over under game, two liter ring toss, bean bag toss, and football toss.

Entertainers will take the stage beginning at noon until 5:00 PM with Fran and De Ja Vu Entertainment singing karaoke. Other planned entertainment includes appearances by costumed characters Elmo, Blue’s Clues, Scooby Doo, Pooh Bear, and Mickey Mouse and The Fabulous Fred Master of Illusion. Other activities include Caricature Artist Randy Cooper, and a live performance by the Lonesome Pony Band.
