After last weeks unbelievable win over the undefeated Super Bowl Champion New York Giants on prime time Monday Night Football I actually thought we might actually have a football team. I thought maybe just maybe the Browns were really good and the injuries of Donte Stallworth, Eric Steinbach, and Kellen Winslow were the cause of the poor start of the season. I mean the expectations for this team were so high at the beginning of the season. (I'm pretty sure I heard and ESPN analyst's predict the Browns to go the Super Bowl before the season started).
So now the time has come with this weeks loss to the Washington Redskins:mad: we are 2-4 with very little hope to be competitive in our Division. I mean have you seen the Browns schedule, It may be one of the toughest in the league. At this point I feel the Browns have a few choices to make, as they clearly need to make some changes. Did anyone else see Derek Anderson and Lawerence Vickers nearly start duking it out on third down. There are clearly discipline issue's with this team, and that starts with coaching. In fact, there are clearly several coaching issues with the Browns including, fighting among st the team, and pointless penalty's that most good high school teams don't even make, but I want to look at the other issues "The Players". Do the Browns have the talent necessary to be effective in the NFL? I like to thinks so. However, the poor showing of our beloved Pro Bowl Quarterback Derek Anderson of which we owe our whole season too or at least until we have wasted the entire season away. Is where I would make the first change. The Browns start and end with Derek Anderson so if he's hot were probably gonna WIN! But if he's COLD like he normally is for some reason we are definitely gonna LOSE! This on again off again showing has not impressed me at all. I think its time for a change. I mean we have one of the best back up quarterbacks in the NFL in Brady Quinn, now obviously he has never been able to showcase his talent so we really don't now how good or bad he really is. So we can only speculate based on his previous collegiate experience at Notre Dame. But why not give the kid a chance? So what if hes not taking us to the Super Bowl this year, ("Were not Going Anyway").
I think we need a quarterback that can become a leader of the team. I mean he touches the ball on almost every snap, so from a player stand point it all starts with the quarterback. I also feel that Brady Quinn has the natural talent to become a great NFL Quarterback and I would hate to see him leave Cleveland because we would give him a chance.
So in my eyes I think the Browns should make Brady Quinn the Starting Quarterback of the Cleveland Browns and move Derek Anderson to our Back Up position. I would probably opt to get rid of Anderson before the start of next season.
I don't expect Quinn to fix all of the Browns problems, obviously our coach Romeo Crennell needs to be monitored closely. What do you think?
