I remember when the Historical Society had a bicentennial event for Lorain two years ago or so. They had an absolutely terrific bus tour which highlighted many of Lorain's historical buildings. One of them was the home that Admiral Ernest J. King lived in, which is now a little run-down. Why cannot the city or somebody start a fund to buy this home and restore it as a landmark for this whole area. And, to go further, the entire little village bounded by W Erie, 2nd Street and Washington Ave. (not absolutely certain) to the black river west of the bridge could be made into a historical area, much like Ford's Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Mich. This, is done properly, could be a destination for people in and outside of Lorain. How about some stimulus money to start the project? It would be terrific and some of the Historical Society would probably be more than happy to participate. Mayor Krasienko, take note!
