So I've known this one guy for 7 months now, and we used to talk all the time about random stuff, say hi to each other, and share the most amazing hugs. We like each other a lot in the friend way; it's nothing more than that, we just love being around each other, and love encouraging and supporting each other, make each other laugh, help each other but don't push it past friends because he has a gf. I don't want to ruin their relationship at all because he's really happy with her and he's a great guy so he's really just a friend - and I'm happy with him just being my friend. :D
Over winter break we kinda lost contact/didn't stay in touch but I missed him a lot, texted him once and he ignored it but he might've been busy so whatever. It's the first week of school after break now, and I smiled at him like I used to/said hi but all of a sudden he seems shy around me. He seems like he "wasn't expecting it" (my "hi") but plesantly, I hear it in his voice... like a regular friend that talks to him that he hasnt seen in a while :P Then he didn't make any effort to initiate convo, I decided to give him a little space because maybe he was just adjusting to new classes/campus (our school moved :P). I could see him looking at me and wanting to talk to me, sometimes commenting briefly on something funny I say to someone else (almost like butting into a convo me and another guy were having). I decided to give it another shot and initiated a conversation when we were walking to class, and it was fun -- but he still doesn't start convos.
I can see that he really wants to talk to me, and watches me, etc but I just bluntly started ignoring him now because I'm tired of being the one to say hi all the time. It feel sooo weird to just like pass him in the halls and not say anything haha I miss him.
What do you think, should I keep talking to him or wait for him to talk to me? I can tell that he wants to, and it feels weird just not talking to him about stuff/asking him for advice... but if I start everything, that's not really friendship. Also, what do I do when he catches my eye or I just bump into him on campus?
